Visit from the Winery: Carte Blanche
Many of you know me as a francophile, with a Eurocentric palate, and a bit of a raised brow of suspicion when it comes to our domestic wines, but I have had to eat my words, as of late. In the last couple of years, more and more American wine makers are working hard to change the face of American wines, following in a tradition of great winemakers, the likes of Sinskey Winery, Mayacamas, Dunn Family Vineyards, and a handful of others who were pioneers, not chasing points, but rather making great wine with purpose and a sense of place. It is so great to welcome, Rob Casey, from Carte Blanche, where Helen Kiplinger is making beautifully balanced, nuanced and interesting wines with a nod to European style but still true to a sense of place.
Rob will be on hand to talk about the wineries purpose and approach, and to taste you on these special wines. This is a unique opportunity to try a wine that you may want to lay down or see for a special occasion. It would also make a great gift for Dad this weekend!
